Abstract

Annotation. This article examines several lexical-syntactic features of the narrative of the creation of the world, as exemplified in the first verses of Genesis. The emphasis is placed on the literary monuments of the ancient Near East, since it is impossible to dismiss the fact that the biblical narrative has many features in common with contemporary texts. The text will also be considered from a grammatical point of view, with detailed consideration of linguistic means (phonetic, lexical, grammatical, wordforming). Since many concepts can only be explained by the ancient Near Eastern context, the tradition of using terms and reconstruction from other Semitic languages. This, in turn, makes it easier to understand biblical literature.
